Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson Both lawyers. When she was just five, she moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled at an Oxfordshire-based Dragon School. Emma's dream was to become an actor. When she was 6she was enrolled into the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch and took lessons on singing, acting, and dance. By the time she turned 10, Emma had taken part in numerous Stagecoach plays and productions. Casting began in 1999 for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was discovered by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. After eight consistent auditions the producer David Heyman told Emma and other applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they were cast as the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first appearance on the big screen was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which was released in 2001. The movie broke all records for its opening and weekend ticket sales, and it was the most-recorded 2001 movie. The film was praised by experts, and also by the performances of its three new starlets. The widely distributed British publication The Daily Telegraph called her performance admirable. Emma later won five awards for her performance in the movie.
